Nutrition's Role in Chiropractic Care

Nutrition.  What does that have to do with chiropractic care?  When a patient suffers from a soft tissue injury (i.e. whiplash, muscle sprain/strain), increased protein consumption can assist in the recovery process for these muscle injuries. The body thrives on protein to both build and repair muscle. Sticking to a high-protein diet while recovering can be extremely helpful in the healing process.

Weight gain and the impact that has on joints is another example of how nutrition affects chiropractic treatment.  If we can help a patient maintain a healthy weight, the healing process is easier.  At Normandale Chiropractic Health Center we help patients understand calorie intake, level of activity and food that can help us heal.

What we put into our body directly relates to our health. We strive to have food that fuels  our bodies and as a source for necessary nutrients to help our organs function and our bodies move.

To maintain proper nutrition habits, we also need to understand how our bodies process food. We need to be aware of what types of food help or hurt our body.   We are inundated with foods that are filled with processed components, fillers, preservatives, and other harmful ingredients that contribute to poor health outcomes.   Normandale Chiropractic is here to help you and your family discern what foods may help us.

Please consult our chiropractors for guidance on diet and nutritional needs to help your body perform better.
